Dear Seminarian,

You are most welcome to St. Francis Xavier's Seminary. We want you to feel at home in this Seminary. Consider this house as your own and therefore try to live in such a way that as an inmate of this house. You can be proud that it is your home too.

Your contribution to this house, however insignificant it may be, will be, deemed great in the sight of God. "Each one of you has received a special grace, so like good stewards responsible for all these different graces of God. Put yourselves at the service of others" (1 Pet. 4;10)

It is presumed that every candidate, who is admitted into the semlnary comes with the intention of devoting his entire life to the service of God and of the Church. It is also presumed that he accepts to follow cheerfully and faithfully the rules in his love for God and for the Church. All are cordially invited to live together as one Loving community of Christ's disciples, in communion of heart and mind, just as the early Christians lived. "The whole group of believers was united. heart and soul" (Acts 4;32)

To help the seminarian properly organize his daily life, the main Programme of seminary life is summarized under the heading 'Rules and Regulations'. These written rules do not say everything and they will therefore be completed by oral directives. Every Seminarian is expected to observe these rules as a free and responsible person without fear or favour.

We wish you God's blessings in abundance and perserverance in your vocation.
